January 2005 Updates

1.28.05 - Screenies

I updated the Cardcaptor Sakura screencap section with 214 screencaps for episode twenty, thus completing the 5th DVD. This episode is the full intro of Mei Lin, and I know I'm not the only one reminded of Shampoo with the character (not the soap one uses on one's head, but the Ranma character). Just to note, Mei Lin is a filler character (i.e. she wasn't in the manga).

I only have two more DVD's for this series, and I'll order the eighth one next month. But for this month I preordered the FMA DVD starter set (you will be seeing screencaps from it here!). I decided to get the starter set after I discovered it had the soundtrack yesterday (Rightstuf.com has a picture of it here).

If you're gonna preorder/order this, I suggest you get it at Overstock.com. The MSRP on it is $49.98, but I paid $33.15 (that includes shipping). They also have the regular first volume $10.59 cheaper than MSRP. I usually buy my anime, and sometimes manga, at Overstock. And no, I don't a have a referrer account or the like with them. I'm just trying to pass on some savings to you guys that didn't know about them. ;)

1.25.05 - Wipes off cobwebs...

I actually updated and pruned the Tenchi Muyo section! I checked my FTP logs I had in my directories, and the last time it was updated was in late 2003. Guess it's been a while, eh? Well, I cleaned the coding of it's pages, deleted a ton of bad quality images, and added a ton of new images. Next on my list to clean up are Bebop and Trigun.

I also went through my files and tallied up the total images on the site. It's been a good while since I've done this, so I thought I should.

Looks like Cardcaptor Sakura has the most images for the whole site, but screencaps for 19 episodes, an intro and ending, plus a movie and special will do that. I need to hurry up and order the first DVD and manga artbook for Fullmetal Alchemist, 21 images is pathetic. ^_^'

1.23.05 - A ton of stuff...

Okay, first part of the update, new layout! The last layout wasn't very good in my opinion, and I decided to change it. This one is much more calming and appropriate for the season. The layout is of course, tables and css. It features some abstract art I made, some brushes from Insomniac Brushes, and a character that leads into the next part of the update.

I also added two new series to the site, Fullmetal Alchemist and Black Cat. If you've been watching Adult Swim on Saturdays, then you should know what FMA is. In a lot of ways I didn't want to add another CN series, but this would probably be my favorite current manga series, I love the plot twists. For this series I have put up scans for the 2005 Comic Calendar and the 2005 Anime (A version) calendar. I will be adding more scans to the gallery, but not until I order some of the artbooks.

Black Cat is a 20 volume manga by Yabuki Kentaro, and is also one of my favorite manga's. This series has not been animated or licensed in English, so there's not too much information about it out there. I tried to explain it a bit on it's page. In addition to images for the characters, I have added color scans from the Matatabi Illustration book, and also scans from the Character Guide.

Well, hopefully you guys like the new series. I'll try to get some other updates done in the not so far future. ;)

1.4.05 - A real update...

Well this is rare, an update with content? Anyway, I added 161 screencaps for episode 19 of Cardcaptor Sakura. Now we have the intro of Mei Lin, and the episode after this one should be fun to make caps of. Episode 19 just have everyone running around after a book in a library, so it's pretty uneventful.

I'm actually thinking of bringing two new series to the site, but not until I'm done scanning the images for one of the series. Both of them are shounen, so that should make some of you happy. I generally like shounen more than shoujo. Anyway, that's it for today.
